Exploratree in action
Take a tour of the Exploratree features (accessible version).
Welcome to a tour of the Exploratree features.
Exploratree is a free online library of thinking guides, and a tool to make your own thinking guides. Note that Flash is required to use Exploratree.
When you open a guide, there are three different modes you can work in.
'Create it' mode lets you edit anything in the thinking guide.
'Do it' mode lets you add to the thinking guide and fill in your project.
'Show it' mode lets you present your work.
There is a sequencing feature to structure your thinking into smaller steps.
You can print out thinking guides too.
When you register on Exploratree you are able to save and share your thinking guides.
You can build up a personal portfolio of thinking guides.
You can either change and edit thinking guides from the library, or make a new one from scratch.
You can privately send a thinking guide to a friend or a group, or you can give friends the web address (URL) of your guide.
You can also send a thinking guide for comments only (perhaps to the teacher for marking.)
Or you can send it to us if you've got one that you'd like to add to our library!
You can also choose to share your thinking guide for collaborative working.
This is useful if you are working on a project with other people.
There are lots of ready-made thinking guides for you to use.
Change them to suit your projects: edit or add shapes, text and images.
You can also add hints to the guides.
If you want to stop objects or text from being deleted from your guide by others, use the padlock feature.
You can check your thinking guide in 'Do it' mode to see how others will see it before you send it to them.
Print out your guide or send it to others.
Please send us your comments and let us know how you use Exploratree to help us improve it!
