Tracking an enquiry (accessible version)

This thinking guide will help you to plan your enquiry.

Step1. First identify the focus of your enquiry, and then go on to Step 2.

Step2. Identify the big questions that relate to your enquiry. What questions do you need to ask to help you find answers? What aspects of your enquiry are really important? Can any of your questions be grouped together to make a bigger question?

When think you have all the important questions covered, move to step 3.

Step 3. Next, list the potential sources of evidence you could use to help answer each of the questions identified in step 2. Where could you look for the answers?

Nearly there. Last step now!

Step 4. Finally, list the facts or evidence you hope to find at each of the sources you have identified in step 3.

Once all these steps have been finished, your assignment is complete.
