Futures wheel (accessible version)

Think through the consequences and impacts of an event. What are the knock-on effects?

Step 1. First, identify your event. Then move to step 2.

Step 2. Next you need to think about the first potential consequence of this event. For example, if you event was "a rise in oil prices", the first possible consequence might be "a rise in petrol prices".

Now move to step 3.

Step 3. You now need to think about how the event and the first consequence identified in step 2 could create further consequences.

Start by identifying the second possible consequence; using the example above it might be that "people take fewer car journeys".

Using the same logic, continue to identify possible consequences until you reach a natural conclusion.

Once all these steps have been finished, your assignment is complete.
