Knowing trees (accessible version)

This guide helps you to think about a question or problem and to identify sources or evidence to support your ideas.

Step 1. Firstly, write down the question or idea that you want to investigate. When you have done this, move on to step 2.

Step 2. Now you should break this into two or three manageable mini-ideas or micro-questions. When you have done this, move on to step 3

Step 3. Now , each mini-idea needs to be explored using sources of information: you should identify where you need to look for the relevant information. When you have completed this, go to step 4.

Step 4. Next you hit the compost where you need to describe what you now know about the problem. When you have done this, move on to step 5.

Step 5. Finally, you can begin including different sources of evidence that support your idea or question.

Once all these steps have been finished, your assignment is complete.
