This is a universal thinking skills framework. It helps you think about and communicate any topics, issues or problems. Copyright Belle Wallace (used with permission)

Step 1. Firstly, gather & organise the information you have - ask yourself "What do I know about this?" When you have done this, move on to step 2

Step 2. Now, identify what the task you need to do is. When you have done this, move on to step 3

Step 3. Next, start to come up with a list of ideas around the topic or question. See how many ideas can you think of. When you have done this, move on to step 4

Step 4. Now you need to decide which is the best of these ideas. Simply write down the best idea. When you have done this, move on to step 5

Step 5. Next you need to actually carry out that idea - you need to do it! When you have done this, move on to step 6

Step 6. After you have done the idea, you should evaluate the idea. Ask yourself "How well did I do?" When you have done this, move on to step 7

Step 7. Next, you can tell people about what you did. Communicate the idea and activity to people. When you have done this, move on to step 8

Step 8. The last step is to establish what you have learned from this experience - ask yourself "What have I learned?"

Once all these steps have been finished, your assignment is complete.
