Examine ideas (accessible version)

Investigate supporting evidence and conflicting views; then make your own new ideas.

Step 1. Firstly, state what the question or statement is that you would like to investigate. When you have done this, move on to step 2.

Step 2. Now describe what your hypothesis, or argument is surrounding the statement. When you have done this, move on to step 3

Step 3. Now describe all the supporting evidence for the statement and hypothesis. Next, list any conflicting views that you have come across relating to the statement. When you have completed this, go to step 4.

Step 4. Next describe what it means to you when you compare the supporting and conflicting views about the statement or question. When you have done this, move on to step 5.

Step 5. Now list all the new ideas you have thought of about the statement or question.

Once all these steps have been finished, your assignment is complete.
